President’s Budget Boosts EPA Brownfields Program by 23 Percent

The President's FY 2011 budget proposed boosting the EPA Brownfields Program by $40 million, which is 23 percent over FY 2010. The majority of the expanded funding goes to the popular site assessment and cleanup program for localities. The press release states, "EPA will focus its efforts on area-wide planning and cleanups, especially in under-served and economically disadvantaged communities."
